BRAC Seed and Agro Enterprises builds the value chain system of production and distribution of quality seeds and other agricultural inputs like micro nutrients (Zinc and Boron) offering fair price to the farmers. Its core objective is to contribute in ensuring food security by innovating newer seed varieties and agricultural technologies, while assuring the highest product quality through its research centres, biotechnology lab, tissue culture lab and soil testing laboratories.
It is the country’s largest producer of hybrid maize seed and 2nd largest producer of potato seed (only after Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation, BADC), while having greater market share for rice seed (hybrid and HYV), maize seed, potato seed and vegetable seed.
Furthermore, environment friendly farming is fostered by marketing micro nutrients like zinc and boron to diminish the micro nutrients deficiency in soil. Thus this socially responsive enterprise is always focused on the improvement of livelihoods of marginalized farmers through sustainable ways, delivering superior product quality.
